The many types of human trafficking

Polaris, a US agency that deals with human trafficking, has identified different employment areas in which human trafficking is known to be rife:

These areas are not the only ones, of course. Over the coming months we hope to look deeper, in particular at certain sectors ‘post-Brexit’ where cheaper foreign labour is - apparently - no longer easily available.

It’s notable that in the UK, the government points to nearly half of all trafficking victims identified being children. Children in the care system and unaccompanied migrant children are particularly at risk.

At CAAGe we believe that this is because unless there is some kind of slavery or migration issues that are being specifically looked at currently for political reasons, government pays little attention to adult victims of grooming, who may not be included in many official statistics.
